Ziliä Qansurá

Ziliä Qansurá is a Bashqort multidisciplinary artist born in Bashqortostan, based in Vienna. Trained at Ufa College of Arts, GITIS in Moscow and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, she moved from theater and stage design into installation, textiles and performance. Working with felt, native plants and electronic waste, she treats felt-making as both an inherited Bashqort craft and a political statement, building "somatic maps" that fold historical erasure of Indigenous and post-Soviet identity into present-tense bodily experience as healing. Her work has appeared at the Berliner Festspiele, Asia Triennial Manchester and the Kyiv Biennial, often alongside collaborator Stas Shärifulla.
