Yung Lean

Yung Lean is the stage name of Jonatan Leandoer Håstad, a Swedish rapper and singer born in 1996 and raised in Stockholm's Södermalm district. In 2013 he formed the Sad Boys collective with producers Yung Gud and Yung Sherman, and the deadpan, lo-fi viral video Ginseng Strip 2002 turned his melancholic, internet-native take on cloud rap into a genre-defining moment. His albums, from Unknown Memory (2014) through Warlord, Stranger, Starz, Psykos and Jonatan (2025), moved from ironic hype to emotionally raw songwriting shadowed by loss and depression, while his alter ego Jonatan Leandoer96 pursues indie rock and neofolk on Nectar and Sugar World.
