Yuko Mohri
Yuko Mohri (b. 1980) is a Japanese artist based in Tokyo known for her kinetic installations in which everyday objects — found materials, scientific equipment, musical instruments — are set into unpredictable motion by electrical circuits, natural phenomena, and carefully designed but impossible-to-control systems. The resulting works produce incidental sound and movement that cannot be predetermined, making each work a site of ongoing contingency and surprise.
Her installations often use the weather as a compositional element — humidity, temperature, and barometric pressure triggering different behaviors in the physical and electronic systems she constructs.
