Yuka Honda
Yuka Honda (born 1963) is a Japanese-American musician and producer, co-founder of Cibo Matto alongside Miho Hatori. Beyond Cibo Matto — whose playful, food-themed sample-based albums Viva! La Woman (1996) and Stereo Type A (1999) made them a distinctive presence in 1990s New York alternative music — Honda has pursued an extensive solo production and composition practice. She has collaborated with Sean Lennon, Nels Cline, and DJ Olive among others, and her solo work explores electronic music, improvisation, and sound art. She is a significant figure in the New York Downtown music scene.
