Yohimbe
Yohimbe is the solo noise and power electronics project of Laurie M. Peterson, established in 2007 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and based in Richmond, Virginia since 2014. Recordings draw on turntables, FM synthesizers, circuit-bent electronics, guitar, and vocals, layered into dense, abrasive textures.
Releases include Spill Kit, I Would Marry You, and the collaborative Black Box with Skin Graft, issued through the Cleveland label Evidence Tapes, alongside earlier work on the Hot Releases imprint.
Peterson's live performances as Yohimbe are known for their raw, demanding intensity, situating the project within the American DIY power electronics and harsh noise underground.
