William Bennett

William Bennett (b. 1955) is a British musician, founder of Whitehouse and Cut Hands, and one of the central and most controversial figures in power electronics and noise music since 1980. Whitehouse, which he founded in that year, is credited as one of the defining acts of power electronics — a form characterized by extreme volume, synthesizer aggression, and deliberately provocative lyrical content.

Under the Whitehouse name, Bennett produced dozens of records — for Come Org, Susan Lawly, and other labels — that explored violence, sexuality, and transgression with unsparing directness.
