Walter Hus
Walter Hus (born 1959) is a Belgian composer and pianist known for his work in contemporary classical music and interdisciplinary performance. Based in Belgium, he has composed for chamber ensemble, orchestra, and electronics, and has performed and presented work at major European new music festivals. His compositions engage with the relationship between contemporary classical writing and more popular or vernacular musical sources, and he has been involved in opera and music theatre as well as concert music. He teaches at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and has been a significant figure in Belgian new music for several decades.
