Voice Crack
Voice Crack was a Swiss improvising duo of Norbert Möslang and Andy Guhl, active from 1972 to 2002. Over three decades, they developed one of the most consistent and theoretically coherent practices in European free improvisation — a method they called cracked everyday electronics, in which consumer devices (radios, game consoles, children's toys) were modified, damaged, and used in ways that radically exceeded their original functions.
Their practice transformed obsolete and unreliable technology into instruments of unpredictable sonic behavior, producing music that could not be controlled or anticipated even by the performers themselves.
