Vinyl-terror & -horror

Vinyl-terror & -horror is the ongoing collaboration of Camilla Sørensen (b. 1978) and Greta Christensen (b. 1977), both of whom graduated from the Royal Danish Art Academy in Copenhagen in 2007. Their practice treats the turntable as a sculptural instrument: vinyl records are physically broken and reassembled as cut-up collages, looped and interrupted to produce unexpected rhythmic and textural structures. Installations often combine these sound-sculptures with samples from 1960s horror films, kinetic objects, and dramatic lighting, building post-apocalyptic atmospheres infused with dark humour.
