Vagina Dentata Organ

Vagina Dentata Organ is the project of Jordi Valls, a Spanish-born artist based in various European locations. Working in power electronics, body music, and noise since the late 1970s, his practice is explicitly confrontational and transgressive — drawing on de Sade, body horror, sexuality, and institutional violence in recordings and performances designed to disturb and destabilise. Releases on Subculture, Dossier, and other labels throughout the 1980s and 1990s place him in the first generation of European power electronics alongside Whitehouse and Schloss Tegal. His work has been praised and condemned for its uncompromising extremity.
