Tim Hodgkinson

Tim Hodgkinson (born 1949) is a British musician and composer, co-founder of the influential avant-rock group Henry Cow in 1968 alongside Fred Frith. As Henry Cow's clarinettist, keyboard player, and co-composer, he helped develop the group's distinctive fusion of free improvisation, modern classical composition, and politically informed rock. After Henry Cow dissolved in 1978 he continued with a solo career spanning improvised electroacoustic music, extended chamber works, and ethnomusicological research into the music of Tuva and Siberia. His compositions have been performed internationally and he has collaborated with many figures in the European and global experimental scene.
