Thomas Ankersmit

Thomas Ankersmit is a Dutch musician and artist based in Amsterdam and Berlin. He is best known for his work with the Serge modular synthesizer, which he has played in a highly distinctive way since the early 2000s — producing music that combines harsh, physically intense frequencies with precise timbral control and spatial awareness. His performances are often presented in multichannel formats that allow sound to move through and inhabit architectural space.

Ankersmit has released work on Shelter Press and Edições CN, including Figueroa Terrace (2013) and Homage to Dick Raaijmakers (2016), the latter a tribute to the Dutch electronic music pioneer.
