The Adicts

The Adicts are a British punk band formed in Ipswich in 1975. Known for their theatrical approach — combining the energy of British punk with commedia dell'arte imagery, bowler hats, and Clockwork Orange-inspired aesthetics — they were part of the second wave of UK punk in the early 1980s. Albums including Sound of Music (1982) and Songs of Praise (1983) on Fall Out Records established a devoted following that has proved remarkably durable internationally, particularly in the United States and Japan. They continue to tour and remain an active presence in the international punk underground.
