Tété Leguia
Teté Leguía (born 1985, Lima) is a Peruvian prepared electric bassist based in New Haven. Trained in composition at the National Conservatory of Peru, she deconstructs conventional bass technique using feedback, magnetic field disruption, and found objects — no effects pedals, no overdubs. She ran the twice-monthly free improvisation series "Minutos para el fin" in Lima before relocating to the USA, where she became a fixture of the New York and New Haven free improv scene. She has recorded on Buh Records, ugEXPLODE, and fim improvisation, and collaborates regularly with Martín Escalante, Weasel Walter, and Jacob Felix Heule.
