Techno Animal

Techno Animal was a British industrial hip-hop and experimental electronic duo comprising Kevin Martin and Justin Broadrick (of Godflesh and Jesu). Active primarily in the 1990s, they produced a sound of extreme bass pressure, mutated hip-hop rhythms, and industrial density — an encounter between Mick Harris's post-Scorn dub and the hardcore electronic aesthetics of Broadrick's other projects. Releases on Virgin-subsidiary Interscope and their own label explored a ferocious intersection of hip-hop, metal, and noise. Martin has continued similar work as The Bug; Broadrick has pursued numerous projects including Jesu and his numerous collaborations in the post-metal/ambient space.
