Tashi Wada

Tashi Wada is an American composer and performer based in Los Angeles, son of sound artist Yoshi Wada. His practice works with sustained tones, just intonation, and acoustic beating phenomena — typically performed on organ, synthesiser, or with ensembles — to produce slowly evolving works of great physical presence. Releasing on Saltern and other labels, he has developed a compositional identity that engages directly with the just intonation tradition of La Monte Young and his father Yoshi Wada while establishing its own formal and sonic logic. He frequently collaborates with other musicians including Julia Holter and Jessika Kenney.
