Tara Transitory

Originally from Singapore, Tara Transitory is an artist and performer whose practice weaves noise, electronics, and ritual into a sustained critique of gender norms and capitalist culture. A graduate of the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, she performs also under the name One Man Nation and has appeared at CTM Berlin, donaufestival Krems, the Guggenheim Bilbao, the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei, and Wiener Festwochen. Her project International Gender Noise Underground documents the lives of trans women across Asia and Europe, using noise performance and recorded sound as political and communal tools. She also co-founded Translæctica, a trans/queer music series originating in Granada.
