Takis Kalle Laar
Born in 1955 of Latvian-Estonian descent, Kalle Aldis Laar is a German musician, sound artist, DJ, and radio play author based near Munich. He studied medieval history and history of science at LMU Munich, then from 1989 toured Europe, the USA, and Japan with Japanese percussionist Takashi Kazamaki, giving over a hundred concerts in free improvisation. He co-founded the Temporary Soundmuseum in Munich with Barbara Holzherr, edits for the Trikont label, and teaches sound at Munich University of Applied Sciences. His Metropolis radio project received the Radio Play of the Year award in 2001.
