Sven Väth
Sven Väth (b. 1964) is a German DJ, producer, and nightclub founder who has been a central figure in European techno since the late 1980s. He was founder and resident DJ of the Omen club in Frankfurt — one of the earliest and most important venues in European rave and techno — producing marathon sets that made him a formative presence in the scene. He later founded Cocoon club in Ibiza and the Cocoon Records label, both significant to European techno ever since. His DJ sets are known for their length, depth, and sustained intensity, drawing on the Detroit and Chicago records that shaped his early sets at Omen and cementing his reputation as techno's most enduring mentor figure.
