suzueri

Suzueri is the performing name of Tokyo-based sound artist Elico Suzuki, who studied Fine Art at Musashino Art University and Media Art at IAMAS in Gifu before turning to sound practice after earlier work in game design, magazine editing, and web development. Active since the 1990s, she builds and performs with handmade instruments and devices, exploring DIY circuitry and objects, including an upright piano rigged with her own mechanisms. Her music sits within Japan's improvised and experimental scene, released through labels such as Ftarri and Hitorri, often in duo settings with musicians like Makoto Oshiro, probing the latency between tool, gesture, and body.
