Susana Santos Silva & Alexandra Nilsson

Susana Santos Silva, a trumpeter and composer from Porto trained at Codarts Rotterdam under Eric Vloeimans, co-founded the Porto association Porta-Jazz and its Carimbo label, and leads the Scandinavian ensemble Life and Other Transient Storms. Alexandra Nilsson is a Swedish electroacoustic composer working from Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm. As a duo the two recorded Radio Two (Superpang, 2022) during an EMS residency between 2018 and 2019: Silva's trumpet lines supplied raw material that Nilsson processed and reshaped compositionally in the studio, yielding six pieces of sinuous, dynamically extreme electroacoustic sound.
