Studio Labour

studio LABOUR is the Berlin platform of the duo LABOUR, composer and SuperCollider performer Farahnaz Hatam and composer-drummer Colin Hacklander, who have worked together since 2013 and founded LABOUR in 2018. The studio extends their practice into editions, releases, and curatorial projects.

Their work moves between digital sound synthesis, algorithmic composition, percussion, and voice, foregrounding active listening within architectural spaces. Releases include the album nine-sum sorcery (2020), featuring Hani Mojtahedy, and the compilation GmbH: An Anthology of Music for Fashion Shows. They have presented work at venues including Callie's, Berlin, and Shedhalle, Zurich.
