Stephen P. McGreevy

Stephen P. McGreevy is a California-based field recordist and researcher dedicated to capturing natural electromagnetic radio emissions from Earth's magnetosphere — whistlers, chorus, hiss, and sferics — using custom-built orthogonal loop antennas in remote locations across temperate and polar regions. Working under amateur radio callsign N6NKS, he has conducted recording expeditions since the early 1990s, developed the WR-3 VLF receiver, and released recordings including the two-disc Electric Enigma: The VLF Recordings of Stephen P. McGreevy. His work is archived at the University of Iowa Space Physics lab.
