Stephanie Loveless

Stephanie Loveless is a Montréal-born, Brooklyn-based sound and media artist focused on listening and vocal embodiment. She holds MFAs from Bard College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and trained in Deep Listening with Pauline Oliveros, later becoming Director of the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer. Her projects range from a geo-located listening app to soft-speakers built from paper cups and performance prescriptions devised for audience-identified ailments, alongside pieces channeling the voices of plants, animals and opera divas. Her sound, video and performance work has toured festivals and galleries across the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.
