Steinbrüchel

Steinbrüchel is the project of Roland Wäger, a Swiss sound artist and musician based in Zurich. Working with field recordings, granular synthesis, and minimal electronics, he produces slowly evolving, extremely quiet works that occupy a space between drone, microsound, and environmental sound art. Releasing on Raster-Noton, 12k, and other labels associated with minimal and conceptual electronic music, his practice is characterised by restraint, spatial awareness, and a patient engagement with the smallest sonic elements. He has collaborated with Taylor Deupree and other figures in the minimal electronic music scene.
