Slavek Kwi

Slavek Kwi (also known as Artificial Memory Trace) is a Czech-born artist and musician based in Ireland. Since the 1990s he has developed a practice centred on field recording, acoustic ecology, and electroacoustic composition, with a philosophical and scientific interest in non-human communication — particularly the acoustics of insects, frogs, and other organisms. His recordings have appeared on Sedimental, Unfathomless, and other labels, and his work has been presented in exhibitions and performances internationally. He co-founded the Irish Sound, Science and Technology Association (ISSTA) and has been based in Cork and Dublin.
