Signe Lidén
A Norwegian artist who trained at the Academy of Arts in Bergen and completed an MA in the Nordic Sound Art programme in 2012, she works across sound installation, video, performance, field recording, and instrument-building to approach place as a layered dynamic produced by geological, biological, atmospheric, and social forces. Her graduation work Urphänomene suspended a concrete block from the Bergen Kunsthall ceiling with transducers inside amplifying a recorded storm. Her subsequent research has focused especially on man-made holes — tunnels, repositories, and sealed vaults — as sites where civilisation stores its past for an undefined future.
