SHXCXCHCXSH is a Swedish techno duo who have released on Avian, MORD, and Northern Electronics since 2013. Their sound combines industrial techno with noise, drone, glitch, and broken beats — what they describe as deadly serious techno that moves across dancefloor functionality and darker ambient registers. Their debut album STRGTHS (2013) established their unpronounceable name as a marker of deliberate illegibility: as self-described logophiles, they contort language into splintered character sequences that resist easy categorisation. Their work distorts club contexts by applying an exceptionally idiosyncratic and refined palette to the materials of underground techno.
