Seth Price
Seth Price (b. 1973) is an American artist whose practice spans sculpture, video, writing, and distribution, addressing how culture circulates. His early work engaged directly with distribution — releasing video and audio works as downloadable files designed to circulate outside gallery contexts — while investigating the aesthetic dimensions of those formats. His sculptures use industrial materials — foam, resin, polymer fabric — to foreground the relationship between information and physical substance. His widely circulated essay "Dispersion" (2002), itself distributed across PDFs and printed booklets, became a touchstone for thinking about art in an age of networked reproduction.
