Sergio Luque

Born in Mexico City in 1976, he studied composition at the Conservatory of Rotterdam and received a Master in Sonology from the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague before completing a PhD at the University of Birmingham, where he was a member of BEAST — Birmingham Electroacoustic Sound Theatre. His work applies computer-aided algorithmic processes and stochastic models, building on Iannis Xenakis's theoretical legacy. Based in Madrid, he directs the Master in Electroacoustic Composition at the Centro Superior Katarina Gurska and curates the contemporary music festival VANG at the Cybele Palace.
