Sergej Vutuc
Born 1979 in Doboj, Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sergej Vutuc grew up between Zagreb (Croatia) and Heilbronn (Germany), shaped by the echoes of conflicted local history and displacement during turbulent times. Deeply rooted in punk, DIY ethics and skateboarding subcultures from the margins of society, he explores urban decay, appropriation of space and the nomadic gaze through analogue photography, film, printmaking, zines and interventions on found images. He scratches, interferes and re-appropriates materials much like skateboarders reclaim the built environment.
