Sapphogeist

The project of New York-based artist Zoe Burke, who worked in power electronics collective Reverse Baptism before launching Sapphogeist. Her self-titled debut cassette appeared on No Rent Records in March 2016, followed by releases on L.I.E.S. Records and BANK NYC. The project moves between abrasive noise, industrial texture, and experimental pop structures, with extended passages of avant-garde sound design sitting alongside unexpected melodic moments. Burke has consistently positioned the project across the edges of underground experimental and club-adjacent music scenes.
