Sanctum

Sanctum is a Swedish ritual ambient and industrial music project, one of the more significant Scandinavian acts in the neo-folk and dark ambient tradition. Releasing on Cold Meat Industry in the 1990s, they worked in extended, meditative sound environments drawing on European esoteric traditions and the aesthetics of the Scandinavian industrial underground. Their albums combine electronics, acoustic instruments, and voice in compositions of considerable patience and ritual gravity, contributing to the international dark ambient canon alongside Raison d'être and Nordvargr.
