Sam Auinger

Austrian composer and sound artist born in 1956. He divides his practice between Berlin and Linz, working across composition, installation, and psychoacoustics. Since 1989 he has collaborated with American artist Bruce Odland as O+A, producing large-scale public installations that transform urban noise into real-time harmony. With Hannes Strobl he forms TAMTAMCLUB, and together with Strobl and media artist Dietmar Offenhuber he co-founded stadtmusik. He was a DAAD Berlin Artists Programme guest in 1997 and was named Bonn City Sound Artist in 2010.
