Salomé Voegelin
Professor of sound at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Her practice and writing approach sonic experience through phenomenological and political frames. Her 2010 book Listening to Noise and Silence: Towards a Philosophy of Sound Art engaged works by Janet Cardiff, Bill Fontana, Bernard Parmegiani, and Merzbow alongside lesser-known contemporaries, establishing an aesthetics built on the act of listening itself. She draws on the relational logic of sound to examine the liminal spaces where disciplines converge around contemporary questions.
