Sabine Vogel

A flutist anchored in the Berlin free improvisation scene, she develops a personal language for the instrument through extended technique, electronics, and field recordings drawn from nature. She is a longtime member of Splitter Orchester, the 24-piece Berlin-based ensemble, and holds teaching positions at the University of Potsdam and the HMT Rostock, where she teaches Soundpainting. Her collaborators include George Lewis, Anthony Braxton, Tony Buck, Andrea Neumann, and Magda Mayas, situating her work at the intersection of acoustic and environmental sound.
