Sabine Sanio
A professor at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2009, she leads the theoretical axis of the Sound Studies and Sonic Arts master's programme. Her academic background spans German literature, philosophy, and musicology, and she completed her habilitation before joining the UdK faculty. Since 2019 she has directed the DFG-funded research project Hearing the Other, focused on aesthetics in experimental music and sound art. Her books include Alternatives to Work Aesthetics: John Cage and Helmut Heissenbüttel (1999) and 1968 and the Avantgarde (2008).
