Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock

Born in Austria in 1968 and based in Switzerland, Rudolf Eb.er founded the outsider art group Schimpfluch in 1987 before establishing Runzelstirn & Gurgelstøck in 1989, a project he maintained until 2009. Working within extreme noise, sound collage, and musique concrète, the practice is rooted in the actionist tradition and organised around what Eb.er calls necroglotta: occult psychomagick incantations embedded in dense psychoactive sonic environments. The work combines Dadaist endurance strategies with transgressive body-based performance and ritualistic sound, occupying a deliberately confrontational position at the margins of European experimental practice.
