Rune Søchting

Based in Copenhagen, he holds a PhD examining sound as a relational phenomenon — exploring the conditions of the audible and their social and critical implications — a background that shapes the analytical rigour of his practice. Working across sound composition, installation, and performance, his work often emerges from site- or context-specific research and collaborative dialogue. He has composed for dance and theatre productions and video. His works engage with tensions between physical and imaginary space, exploring how sound articulates thresholds between inside and outside, between visible and invisible, and how phenomena such as rumour function as sonic and social relations.
