Roxy Music

Formed in London in 1970 by singer and keyboardist Bryan Ferry alongside bassist Graham Simpson, the group expanded to include Andy Mackay on saxophone, Phil Manzanera on guitar, Paul Thompson on drums, and Brian Eno on synthesizer before recording their 1972 debut. Eno departed in 1973, replaced by Eddie Jobson. Their sound fused glam theatricality, experimental musicianship, arch humour, and world-weary romanticism into a style that profoundly influenced punk, new wave, and art rock. They released eight studio albums between 1972 and 1982 before disbanding in 1983. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
