Rolando Hernández

Based in Mexico City, he is a sound artist, curator, and researcher whose practice expands across scores, performances, documentary, and archival work. Since 2013 he has co-directed Umbral, a festival and project space devoted to sound experimentation that alternates monthly between Mexico City and Oaxaca. In 2015 he founded CCADDASM, an institution building an alternate historiography of sound practices in Mexico from pre-Hispanic sonic objects to 20th-century sound art, working with documentation centres, private collections, and artists to recreate performances and develop oral histories.
