Robert Piotrowicz

Born in 1973, he began playing in hardcore punk bands in Szczecin in the 1980s before moving gradually toward electroacoustic improvisation by the end of the 1990s, with no formal music education. His practice centres on analogue modular synthesizers and electric guitar, producing saturated, microtonal sound structures that sit between electroacoustic composition and sound art. With Anna Zaradny he co-founded the Musica Genera label and annual festival in Szczecin in 2002. He has collaborated with artists including Kevin Drumm, Jérôme Noetinger, and C. Spencer Yeh.
