Rob Hodrijk
Born in the Netherlands in 1958, he came to synthesizer design through an arts background, having trained as a sculptor and jeweler before completing eleven years of study in information technology. Working from The Hague, he developed some of the most distinctive instruments in electronic music, including the chaos-driven Blippoo Box and the Benjolin, both of which use his Rungler circuit to generate unpredictable, organic sound patterns. He also contributed patches to the Nord Modular G2 and built the Hordijk Modular System. He died in September 2022 at the age of 64.
