Richard Francis

Richard Francis is a New Zealand sound artist based in Auckland. He runs CMR (Copy for Your Records), an important label documenting contemporary experimental and electroacoustic music from New Zealand and internationally, with releases by artists including Phil Julian, Bruce Russell, Antoine Chessex and Tim Coster.

His own compositional work uses electronics, field recordings and processed acoustic material to create carefully structured, often minimal compositions that reflect a sustained engagement with the perceptual and spatial dimensions of sound.
