Repetition Repetition

Repetition Repetition was a Los Angeles-based electric minimalist duo comprising Ruben Garcia and Steve Caton, active in the mid-1980s. Their sparse, hypnotic recordings combined minimal guitar figures, drum machine patterns, and a dry, post-punk economy of means influenced by the Velvet Underground and West Coast minimalism. Original releases on Third Stone Music in 1987 remained largely obscure until Freedom To Spend reissued selected recordings on Fit for Consequences: Original Recordings, 1984–1987 (2025), making their work available to a new generation of listeners interested in minimal and lo-fi underground music.
