Reines D'Angleterre

A French experimental trio formed in 2008 by Ghédalia Tazartès, Jo Tanz, and Èlg (Laurent Gérard), bringing together Tazartès's singular vocal practice — built from invented languages, throat singing, and ritual melodic wandering — with the electronics and textural instincts of his collaborators. The group performed nearly twenty concerts and released two albums on Bo'Weavil Recordings: Les Comores (2009), a set of raw live recordings described as art brut, and Globe et Dynastie (2012). Tazartès, a singular figure in French avant-garde music since the 1970s, died in 2021.
