Rebecca Collins

An award-winning artist researcher and lecturer based in the North East of England, her practice focused on listening, sound studies, and the sonic within specific environments and technologies. She co-initiated Stolen Voices with Johanna Linsley, an inquiry into eavesdropping that took the form of participatory workshops, experimental performance, new music composition, and the Eavesdropbox installation; the project's album was shortlisted for a New Music Scotland Award in 2021. She was lecturer in Contemporary Art Theory at Edinburgh College of Art and co-organiser of the Women in Sound/Women on Sound research network. She died in 2024.
