Raymond Dijkstra

Raymond Dijkstra is a Dutch sound artist, musician and label-maker who runs Kasan Records, an extraordinary small label that issues each release as a unique handmade object — typically with hand-painted or hand-printed covers, individually numbered editions and elaborate sculptural packaging made from found and raw materials.

His own recordings under his name and various aliases use voice, acoustic instruments, tape manipulation and environmental sound to produce dense, ritualistic compositions with a strongly material and visual dimension — the physical qualities of his recordings inseparable from the sonic content they carry.
