Rashad Becker
Rashad Becker was born in Syria and emigrated to Europe in his youth, eventually settling in Berlin where he began experimenting with sounds in empty buildings and developing his practice as a composer and sound engineer. As an engineer at Berlin's Dubplates & Mastering, he has mastered and cut over 1200 dance, electronic, and experimental albums, shaping the sonic character of an enormous range of recordings by other artists. He also runs his own mastering studio, Clunk.
His composer credits are far fewer — only two solo releases bear his name — but his debut on PAN, Traditional Music of Notional Species Vol. 1 (2013), was one of the most discussed experimental albums of that year.
