Ralf Wehowsky
Ralf Wehowsky (often credited as RLW) is a German composer and sound artist born in 1959. A founding member and key creative figure of the seminal post-industrial group P16.D4 — active from 1980 to 1987 and released on the Selektion label — Wehowsky has subsequently produced an extensive solo catalogue of extremely detailed, micro-edited tape and computer compositions.
His compositional method often involves inviting multiple collaborators to contribute raw source material — field recordings, instrumental fragments, electronic sound — which he then processes, layers, edits and restructures into highly worked compositions that bear little resemblance to their origins.
